Speakers from all over the world will contribute to high-level discussions on various aspects of successful networking: discussions will cover themes as diverse as sustainability and funding of networks, touch upon marketing strategies and discuss novel forms of interdisciplinary networks and the essential matter of trust management. Best practice examples, short lectures and lively workshops will cover a wide spectrum of subjects and provide the participants with the opportunity to share their experiences, learn new things and to expand their professional networks.
The main focus of the net’swork 2011 will lay on the task to define the properties of a novel profession: the network manager. Professional network management is an exciting, versatile, rewarding activity. At the same time it is positioned in a very challenging field of occupation. The challenge for network managers is being exacerbated, considering the novelty and diversity of tasks that have to be performed. Exchanging experiences, ideas and visions among representatives of this new occupational field will provide new insights and create the basis for joint efforts in the direction of the professionalization of network managing. The Network Managers Memorandum and the perspective of creating the European Networking Academy will summarize the efforts and ideas of the Conference participants, creating a long term basis for future discussions and communication with decision makers on the challenges of professional networking.
