Melissa has ten years of experience in international trade and foreign direct investment promotion work. During the past five years of working for Otaniemi Marketing her responsibilities have included development and delivery of Otaniemi Soft Landing Services to international companies looking for technology partnerships, production of networking programs and events as well as ramping up the basic administrative processes. In her current role as project director she is responsible for the development and operations of Otaniemi International Network (OIN). This open network of 1300 individual international professionals offers a single-point of entry to information, services and networks that are needed in the various stages of relocating to Finland. She also has previous work experience from consultancy projects on SME internationalisation, intercultural competence development and industrial insurances. She holds a BBA-degree in international business from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration and an MA-degree on East Asian Studies from the Universtiy of Helsinki. In addition to her native Finnish she speaks Swedish, English, Korean, French, Japanese and has basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese. She is married and a mother of two children and likes to spend her free time with sports, outdoor activities and by preparing exotic dishes from various ethnic cuisines.
